On this week’s podcast, Millennials Thomas and Emily Call talk about their faith journeys as they uniquely navigate what “going to church” means for them in this season of their lives. Thomas reflects on changes in his Christian community since his teen years and Emily shares how the Instagram world of “Church” just doesn’t dive to the depths of relationship she longs for with other Jesus followers.
I appreciated the podcast discussion as I believe this is a timely discussion for the Body of Christ. I want Thomas & Emily to know that us older folks (I’m 58 😊) are also struggling with what we’re finding in the Church today in the USA. My husband & I do not see biblical discipleship where new converts are mentored to grow in their intimate relationship with the Lord leading to maturity & eventual multiplication. We have experienced great resistance from church leaders when we’ve volunteered to implement this type of community & discipleship. This has occurred in multiple churches & across several states. We long to see this change & are praying for such with fervency. The most beautiful community & ministry comes forth from following Jesus’s great commission strategy. I have great hope after hearing your podcast that the Lord is awakening His people in this area.
